So not a lot of people mention it, but I thought i remember reading that the SXPS 16 has a Synaptics supported touchpad or something in it, meaning you can use some multi-touch gestures like pinch zoom etc. Can anyone clear this up for me? Do you have to do anything to enable the additional gestures? Will i need to download some more drivers or something (i haven't gotten my laptop yet.) What gestures will i be able to do with (or without) the driver (if there is one.)

Thanks for clearing this up for me guys!

Yes, you can do all of that (pinch, scroll, circles, etc.) and the options come turned on when you get it. I prefer them all turned off except scroll horizontal/vertical and pinch. Like the above poster said, it's easy to turn on and off, just go into the touchpad properties in the taskbar.

I believe most newer Dell's have this, my Studio 15 has this touchpad too.

I believe the pinch zoom is the only multi touch gesture supported by 1640 though.

Any way to enable two finger tap?
On my old laptop I programed the two finger tap as a back button. Used it all the time. I sure miss it...

oh and i can pinch and spread fingertips for zoom in and out but thats about all i used it for on another machine i think it was my latitude E6500 that some driver gave me the ability to flick back and forth in just about any app e.g. explorer and IE but i dont think it would work in firefox

i grew to use the addons for mouse gestures but i would defo prefer what you mention or the good old swipe at the top of the track pad of left and right for back and forward

im sure someone covered this before but its a slightly so so process that i couldnt get to work so iv stuck with fire gestures for the time being , but if anyone knows easier work around to get all main programs supporting this would be super helpfull
