    Hi,
I chatted with a tech online earlier this week and he told me that i have to call a specific number because my system is red flagged.
Does anyone knows what it means or why a system is red flagged ?
    Thanks

i *THINK* it means it's showing up stolen in the database. If a person registers their unit and it is stolen they can report it stolen. That way if someone buys the stolen laptop or they stole it and try to get support, that laptop will be red flagged. Or could be a glitch :p

Not sure if Dell does the stolen thing, I know we've reported a few stolen laptops at work but nothings ever come of it.

    it could be 2 things:

1- it has been reported stolen by mistake or by glitch.

2- could mean that the warranty log on your computer shows it has been tempered with by the user, void, or simply expired (either warranty or support)

i cant think of anything else why it might have been flagged...

It could be anything from reported stolen to a recall.

It could also be an error - I would ask for it to removed from the "red flag" list unless they can provide you in a writing a valid reason for your system to be on such a list ;)

    - And I would put that request in writing, addressed to the GM of customer service sent registered mail.

    Was it a refurb?

Something similar happened to me once. I had M1330 replacement, returned the original. Some lady (who happened to live in my town) bought the one I returned from Dell, but the stupid sales person used the billing address as mine to a lady I have no clue about.

Ofcourse my account was flagged when she decided NOT to pay, but I had to call Dell numerous times for their error to get things right.
