    well, its an upgrade on the dell site... and i have the latest bios version, and the t8100 is being taken from a studio 15.
    will it work?

    Yes, for sure. I upgraded my T5450 in my m1330 to a T8300 I got off e-bay. Just make sure you have the latest BIOS (A12).

    yes but i don't think you'll notice a difference between the t7300 and t8100 IMO

    You will definitely notice a difference, albeit not a HUGE one.

    T7300: 2.0GHz / 4MB Cache / 800MHz FSB (+1MB cache)
    T8100: 2.1Ghz / 3MB Cache / 800Mhz FSB (+0.1Ghz speed)
    Almost a tie.

    well, its $100 for a 320hd, t8100 and 4gb of ram, plus my 7300, 160gb, and2gn ram\\\so which is the better processor then? which will be better for photoshop and video stuff?

    Don't forget the difference between 45 nm and 65 nm processors: lower power requirements, less heat.
