    Dell

    You'll need a new laptop to run the t9500, as your current chipset does not support it :eek:

    i think it depends on the chipset......

    I don't believe the gm965 supports it....that's what I was going by--> but I've been wrong before, lol :)

    T9500 works perfectly fine in my m1330 that originally had a T7250 in it.

    The GM965 has the X3100 graphics while the PM965 as none to allow for non-Intel graphics solution like the 8400 nvidia.

    Both support the same CPUs according to Intel. :)

    Yes you can change your CPU. Your chipset is the PM965.

    Do a search on www.pricewatch.com. That site generally lists a bunch of vendors for the processor and shows the cheapest price. Generally the cheapest I have seen for these procs are engineering samples on ebay.

    I am interested in doing the same upgrade.

    First of all, I will wait until the fastest chip supported by my motherboard comes out. But then, my laptop will still be under warranty (2 1/2 years left).

    How should I handle this? Should I buy a processor and then call Dell to install it?
