I bought it to use with my XPS15 (L521x). Other connections like audio, display, USB etc seem to be OK (although I just got it and have not extensively tested them), but there is big problem on the network connection.

Most of the fime I cannot connect to the network. Occasionally I can ping other PCs in the nextwork but it is just one out of tens, which is totally useless.

If I connect the same network cable to the network port on the laptop, and configure exactly the same tcp/ip settings, there is no problem at all.

I have installed the newest displaylink driver already (version 6.3M1).

FYI, I was also looking for a docking station for my new XPS15 and checked out the Targus ACP70/ACP71 line - but then I read about issues about Targus' compatibility w/ the XPS line on numerous reviews - I called Targus tech support & their tech support flat out stated that they wouldn't recommend any of their docking stations with the Dell XPS line for my purpose. I was going to use the docking station for dual monitor hook-up but they said that their docking station wouldn't work for any laptop w/ dual graphics card since there is already an additional graphics card in the docking station. I'm still searching for a good compatible docking station for my XPS15 so if anyone has any recommendations, TIA...

The dual display has no problem.

olivex, thanks for the feedback on the dual display - wow, that's interesting that Targus would sabotage their own sales by stating stuff like that. I guess that I should just buy one locally & try it out - if it doesn't work, I can return it easier. And I'll test out that network connection issue too...

Now everything works. I connect mouse, iPhone, one external display (so in total two displays), network, earphone, on the docking and they seem all work now. The network problem was due to a firewall setting not the docking.
I'm just a bit concerned about the performance that all these many connections are all squeezed into one usb 3.0 cable that connects to my laptop.

Curious if this is still working well for you. I am trying to decide between this and the toshiba one.

Yes it had been working well until there was a hardware failure 3 weeks ago. Now only USB ports work. All other ports stopped working. I believe the hardware failed and called Dell for help. I had to say Dell support on such 3rd party products is awesome...

Anyway it should work if there is no hardware problem

And do you have the link of the Toshiba one? Maybe it's time for me to switch to another one to compare.

    Hey,

I just returned my Toshiba DynaDock (PA3927U-1PRP). The USB 3.0 randomly shut down about 15 minutes to an hour after plugging it in, which made me lose all my connections to my laptop. I had to disconnect and reset the toshiba dock (and sometimes that laptop!) so I could get back to work. My laptop is an ASUS K5A (brand new) with an Intel Graphics adapter, but aparently there are many people experiencing the same issues I experienced with different model laptops, so I would not recommend it. I'm going to try this Targus unit.

OK, so I will not try Toshiba. I am still waiting Dell to send me the replacement.
