I have got a tech guy coming soon to replace my HDD. He is going to reinstall everything again once the hardware has been changed.

My question is, will everything be as it was when i first turned my computer on? Will the bios be the latest version if that is what came with my computer? Or will I have to download all the latest stuff from scratch?

I mean, when a new bios or driver update comes out, does dell update all their installation CD's??

    Hey there,

When the Tech replaced my Motherboard, before he left he updated the latest and greatest that I needed for my 1530. I didn't ask him to do this..he just did. So, I'm not sure if this is something they normally do or not.

I just remember, he had a few CD's with him...and he said he had to make sure the bios' was current/correct, etc.

You can call Dell, or ask the Tech when he calls to confirm the time set-up with you :D
