    Hi Team,

Taking a look over on the Tesco website (The largest UK Supermarket chain) and they are selling two different Dell XPS M1330 laptops.

    Described and priced as:

    Dell XPS M1330 T5750 2GB 13.3" Laptop - £649.00
    Dell XPS M1330 T5450 2GB 13.3" Laptop - £599.00

    Handy comparison link: http://direct.tesco.com/compare/?c=203-8851+204-4786&f=/q/N.1999724$4294951533$4294959117/Nr.99.aspx

Now this is where the questions come..the specs are somewhat vague atleast from my eye as I've only recently started looking at the current M1330 models.

Battery size both = "3.3 hours [Bapco MobileMark 2007]"... are we to assume its a 6-cell or does anyone know any better?

Screen = "WXGA Widescreen" or "XGA Widescreen"... I was under the impression the screens were always WXGA although I could be wrong...or is it just a crude way of them trying to describe one being CCFL and the other White-LED?

I have emailed Tesco but as have yet to have a responce (3 days ago as of writing)

    Anyone have any insights?

    received a half-response on batteries..

    "Thank you for your email.

I'm sorry about the delay in our response, I've received response back from our suppliers who have advised me the Dell Laptops you are enquiring about takes lithium-ion 4 or 6 or 9 cell batteries. 4 cell battery usually comes with stock where as 3.3 hours is the battery life using bapco mobile mark which is a notebook computer benchmark program.

I hope this information is most useful."

Emailed again for screens. will post again when I hear back.

After four more emails and two months I'm still waiting for a response on what screens they have.

They have since told me that the screens are XGA and WXGA, both WXGA and now back to XGA and WXGA although obviously both are WXGA...

A pretty amusing lack of decent customer support but will keep responding to their email replies until they talk some sense.

Save yourself some time, effort and grief, go look for a Laptop elsewhere. The M1330 have GPU and Thermal Cooling Assembly design problems. These laptops are dropping dead like flies Worldwide and DELL is not accepting responsibility for their defects, they merely produce BIOS updates to prolong the inevitable (the over-heating and death of the GPU) until the Warranty expires, then they will no longer be responsible for repairs.
    Great company this DELL

I purchased an M1330 with a x3100 some months ago. Not going to cut and run on getting a final answer of out of them though.

From my conclusion on their prices, battery is the standard 6-cell. Both screens should be the WXGA CCFL. Only difference seems to be their processor, which are both lower spec'd than on the UK Dell site.
