Alright, Dell is starting to really annoy me; seriously,
So my initial order they gave me the wrong screen, i loved the laptop, but they gave me a LCD instead of a LED (which i ordered) so i had to refund the laptop, and reorder it; Seriously, i could not be happier with that laptop besides the screen, it was quiet, and the whole thing was pretty awesome;
Here comes the replacement.
I got it, and the first thing i noticed, where the touch sensitive controls are; that little plastic film was not put down correctly and is scratched up slightly, i was like "fine i could deal with that", i turn it on, pop in my WinXP cd so i can format it and it makes a horrid "crunching" sound, the previous one did not do; Also, in the re-order, i upgraded from a 250GB 7200rpm free fall sensor to a 320GB 7200rpm free fall sensor; while the previous was completely silent, this one clicks on occasion; then the Screen, i dont know how to describe it technically, but when the screen is black it sort of looks like the white "bleed" into the black, like its sort of cloudy? Oh, and did i mention the dead blue pixel?
I really love my previous XPS, and am really regretting sending it back for this one, because other than the screen, it rawked; So i guess i am going to ask for another exchange? Well not EXCHANGE, since i might get a refurbished, a refund then a reorder?
What are your opinions?
Thanks,
Chris

Well if the replacement has all of those issues that your first one didn't and you feel that something might break like the DVD drive or stuck pixels are going to proliferate, then maybe you should send it back again. From what i've heard around here, people usually have no problem getting replacements from Dell if they are not satisfied by the laptop that they have received. If you are going to keep it though, you can probably fix the stuck blue pixel by gently massaging it with your finger or using a utility like UDPixel.

Ugh; I am NOT keeping this thing, i am going to give them one more chance; if not i am gonna look for something else...

Request another replacment as long as you are within the 21 days if you are in the US or 30 in Canada you shouldn't have any problem getting it replaced

There are a lot of happy XPS owners out there, so giving Dell a third try may be worth the PITA. To be honest, though, I'm not sure I'd have enough patience to bear with Dell again.

Well, if at first you dont succeed,........try and try and try again????
It sounds like you already want another replacement, so maybe deep down ~ that is what you are going to do?? :yes:
And, hopefully this time....Dell will get it right for you!!! -
The thing is i am gonna ask for a refund, and order a new system; i dont want a chance of receiving a refurbished laptop...
So like jackie chan said, in that western movie UNO MAS *takes a shot of dell*
And thanks, i sorta needed to vent a little ~_~
BTW does anyone own the new 320GB harddrive? Is it quiet for you guys?
