This crap card keeps crapping out on me, like I have a strong signal one min. then it go to a poor signal then it' turns it's self off, right now I running windows 7 drivers .... which might be the problem, is there any latest drivers that will do this card some good

I checked out the dell support page, and the last update to the drivers were Jan. of 2009 while the windows default drivers were of Aug. 2009

and on another note ... lets talk about an upgrade to a better card,, I understand that the superior Intel cards are not compatible with the 1340 :( bummer

Is there any other brands worth talking about

its not just the drivers its the settings within win7: under properties within the wireless network connection screen you need to go configue and then to power management and make sure its set correctly as in disabling the ability of win7 to switch off the card to save you power and there will be some other adjustments within the advanced tab that you can make -- if you have a home environment with lots of other signals etc. you need to adjust the default settings to filter them -- sorry I can't be more precise but each situation is so context specific that the quickest solution is to open the dialogue and play with the settings until you get the one's that stabilize the card and max out its performance in your environment.

no... it is not compatible. You need a half-height mini wifi card. otherwise the others will not fit in
