Apparently. But they don't do Sunday or Monday.
According to their website:
http://fedex.com/us/services/us/index.html#app9
Look under "Residential Home Delivery" and then the "1 - 7 business days"
Service Days Tuesday–Saturday. Delivery is between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
-
-
Interesting...I always get confused with FedEx because sometimes my packages come from the regular FedEx truck and other times with the Home Delivery vehicle. Never on Saturdays though.
-
Well it's out on a truck for delivery. Can't wait. What is yours up to?
-
I received my laptop about 2 hours ago. Loving it so far, especially after reformatting.
-
Congrats on finally getting it!
-
-
It's overnight so I'm hoping they do.
I posted that whole thing in here thinking this was the order status thread. -.- -
The notebook has extremely superior build quality. Its really nice to use something for once that wasn't just thrown together.
-
If you haven't already, go online and chat with tech support to get your 130w ac brick. It really does make a difference
-
Just to clarify, you get the slim 130W adapter, not the brick, right?
-
-
well its slim... about 2x thick as the 90w... thank-goodness its not like the old xps m17
-
Maybe you should take a picture of how thick they are...
-
-
-
-
I have to say, there is really only one thing I do not like about this system.
The 9 cell battery hump is just annoying.. -
Another plus for the 130W adapter is that it has a much longer cord. I would say at least four feet longer. It is heavier than the 90W but while carrying it around in my backpack I couldn't tell a difference. It's probably only a pound heavier.
-
-
-
Well it's noticeable lol. It definitely protrudes maybe an inch out or more.
-
At least my laptop will mostly be on my desk so the battery hump shouldn't be too much of an issue. My only concern will be how annoying it'll be carrying it in a backpack.
-
Before I returned Studio 17 (also with a bulky 9 cell) I tried it in a back pack and it was bulky but bearable. XPS shouldn't be a problem at all.
-
If you have a backpack big enough to fit the laptop, the 9-cell isn't going to be an issue at all. I bought a Targus backpack just for this laptop and its tight, but it fits and is really easy to carry.
-
The 9 cell adds maybe an inch at most.

Is this laptop getting an upgraded GPU anytime soon?
-
-
-
-
-
I can give you my experience with Booq Boa XL. It is designed for 17" laptop and Studio 17 which is slightly larger than typical 17" fits just fine.
If you go to Booq site, you'll see that they give precise dimensions for laptop pocket for every single one of their bags. Just measure your laptop and find the bag you like accordingly. You won't go wrong. They are very well designed and built. -

mine is about 48-50 degree standby, and 70 full load, (I have changed the thermal paste to AS 5), I still want it go lower... -
-
-
Well I'm loving this laptop. The SSD especially.
Cpu aint bad either
-
well, i am waiting for mine.
I have already purchased a 60gb ssd, and my plan is to replace the ODD with a 2nd HDD caddy -- so that way, i will put my 500GB 7200 rpm hdd as a second hdd, and use the ssd for OS and programs..etc..
the 2nd HDD is for bulk storage.
... and i and purchased a esata/usb TO sata cable to use the DVD drives for the rare occasion that i need to use it.
.....................all said, still waiting for the laptop. -
For those that have a 9-cell on their laptops, does the battery fit properly? I just noticed that my 9-cell kind of sticks up (above the keyboard where the battery slides in) on the left side when you sit the laptop down.
While this isn't THAT serious, I'm just wondering because it might be scraping the LCD screen every time I close and open the laptop.
If not, should I contact Dell for a replacement? -
-
I noticed your signature, 1520 to 6300-N...
Did you connect all three antennas on the 6300-N (3x3)? If so, how?
From what I understand, Dell wires the 1647 for 2 antennas (1520 and 6300 use 2 / 2x2).
Ultimate-N 6300 Spec:
-
I believe the 6300-N uses 3 /3x3 connectors.
There's also somebody here that is using a 6300-N in their 1647.
-
3x3 is what I want. -
-
I found a quick fix for the 9-cell battery issue with it budging out on the left side facing the LCD.
By using a index card, I was able to fold it to fit right under the extended part of the 9-cell (that extends to the right if looking at the battery). With that, it evens out the surface of the battery and the laptop, making it look nicer. -

Installing the wifi card shouldn't be that hard according to their service manual. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get mine from China, so once I do, I'll update on which cables goes where.
