So i ordered my laptop a while ago and it finally shipped to me. Before it even arrived I knew it was a SEC3350 (1060x1050) from the invoice, so I had the mindset that it would be a piece of crap. When i opened it however, I found a very bright screen with no graininess or color bleeding or any other of the reported problems. Maybe it looks better because the Part # was X167G and not the infamous RW985. This seems too good to be true. I've never owned a laptop before, so do I just not know what a bad one looks like or is it actually a well-working Samsung? Should I try to get it replace with an LG or should I keep it the way it is?

Do you really need to ask? if you are happy with it, you're happy with it. :) Absolutely no need to trade it in for the slight possibility that you could get the LG screen. I love my samsung display, although mine's the WUXGA 1920x1200.

I, too, got the SEC3350, and it's the best looking screen I've seen yet. I feel incredibly lucky. Honestly, the only imperfection I can find on this thing is that I have the keyboard bump, which I'll either fix myself or get a tech out here to fix.

Love this thing, posting here with it right now. :D

Edit: forgot to actually say that I just got it today.

Do they seriously have LG screens available for the M1530 that are WUXGA? I was under the impression that LG only made them for the WSXGA's dell had before they removed them.

Nope, no WUXGA LG's available from factory, only samsung. I switched in my own new one personally though, you can find them on ebay occasionally. It blows the samsung away in my opinion - mostly in viewing angles and clarity (no graininess - whereas my SEC3350 did have some even though it wasn't too bad).

As most of the other threads like this suggest.. If it looks good to you, don't worry about it! Who knows, you might have a Samsung screen that looks BETTER than some of the LG's out there.

If it looks good, keep it.
