Well, over the past couple of months, I've been dealing with Dell over my Inspiron 1420, getting replacements and free electronic accessories. I've finally recieved a good 1420, but now I've gotten kind of...tired of it. And this whole time, I've had my eye on the XPS M1330.

Would it be rude if I just decided to return my 1420, after all I've gone through with it with Dell, for a full refund, and then turn around and purchase the M1330?

    ---
Also, I have a few questions about the M1330:
    1) The palmrest doesn't seem very...comfortable; it kind of looks sharp from the pictures. What do you guys think?
    2) What do you guys think of the XPS M1330 all-together?

    ---
    Here would be my specs:
2.0 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
    2 GB Memory
    128mb NVIDIA Geforce 8400M GS
    Tuxedo Black
    Total Price: About $1414

Do you guys think the LED screen is worth the extra $300

    ---
    Thanks in advance.

Why would you keep a laptop your not happy with if you have the option to replace it with one that you would like better? If your not happy with it kick it back to them and get what you want. just my .02 worth.

No, it is not rude to ask for a return. Dell will just turn around and sell every one of your replacements in the outlet and get their money back (never feel sorry for Dell).

The palmrest on the 1330 is actually smoother than the 1420 (just bought one for my mom and set it up for her - decent little system for $700).

Anyway, the LED screen would be worth it IF you get the toshiba panel - it is truly flawless.

Let us know what you do and how it works out!

It's not sharp to me...and as it is aluminum, it got warm after the lappy was on while it is a good feeling when u r in a cold country...

All-together is a great machine, really.

Personally I suggest WLED as 1. I have it 2. It looks cool 3. The webcam also gives you perfect image when using MSN video chat

no, Dell are a company, and I couldn't care less if they think I'm rude! its my money at the end of the day! And if they think I'm rude, I'll go spend it elsewhere!

Never take a companies "feelings" into consideration! They are not people or animals, they dont have feelings!

But the people that work for them do, so dont be rude to them! ;)

You cannot return it. Its been a couple of months as you said so enjoy it. You also cannot get a full refund at this point of time...

If you do, please let us know though, it would be a first.

    Hello,

This is Richard from Dell Online Community Outreach. If you have had the computer for a few months now then returning the system is most likely not a possible option now.

If you were within the 21 day return period or pass it, if we said okay well give you a refund then you should not feel bad at all. If there is something we are able to do for you, we would want to! The point is it does not hurt to ask.

    Regards,

    Richard B

Yeah, can someone (mod/admin) verify this Richard B. claiming he is from Dell. I don't have a problem with it as long as you are indeed from Dell....

does anyone know of any XPS coupon codes?

They'll go back to the original order date, not the replacement order date.

Gunner, don't let people around here influence your decision. I don't know what you do for a living, but I am sure you probably work hard for your money.

If your not happy, send it back. Dell is not going to care either way especially since you plan on buying another Dell.

The ORIGINAL order date......you know, from when you FIRST ordered the laptop. The one you said was a couple months ago now.

    Hello,

If you provide me the order number I can look it up and verify that it is within the 21 day warranty.

My original laptop that I ordered a couple of months ago was sent back, and I BOUGHT and entirely new laptop. Not a replacement. This 3rd laptop is a replacement for my second bought one. And it's within the 21 day warranty.

(By the way, I know this might sound cheesy, but would anybody be willing to private message me their promotional Dell gift card coupon code? I'm short like $200...if not, I understand XD )

Like I stated above, would anyone be willing to give me their Dell Promotional Card ($200) code? I'll be recieving a $200 promo card within a number of weeks, and I swear to God that I'd give the code to whoever gave me theirs. I would use my own card, but I do not have it yet.
Just private message me the code if you're feeling nice today... :p
