Very excited! [original delivery date was 20/1/2011 from 10/1/2011, now 17/1/2011 so delivered within a week, including weekends, not bad]

    But..

    What?

According to UPS, my laptop weights .4kg less including packing!

UPS probably just rounds to the nearest kg.

If the box, 9 cell, manuals, packaging weigh less than 200 grams, I'd be surprised... so they should list it as 4kg?

Rather concerned that I'll be proudly opening a box with a 14x model in it now

This is not UPS's fault but Dell's. I remember when I had to send a system back to dell, they gave me a prepaid UPS label that said "8 pounds" on it but the system originally was about 12 pounds. When I dropped it off with UPS, they still take it LOL

Mine said the same too. I think they indeed round it off to the nearest kilo. In the case of the XPS 17, which is around 3.4 kilo, they round it down to 3.

I got my 17 FedEx, and it shows 13.0 lbs/5.9 kg. That seems a little heavy. I will have to weigh it when I get home.

More bang for your buck? ;)

Still waiting for the first person who ordered a 701x, and mistakenly gets 702x parts (which are being shipped into the factories as we speak)... I'm guessing complaints on that front won't be too high :p
