    Went to go launch portal 2. Got a bsod that said nvidia gpu timed out. (something along those lines) Go to start back up and i have no display. Nothing is showing on my screen.
    What could be wrong.

    This is a dell l502x xps laptop

    Well you can pretty much guess what's wrong: The graphics system is in trouble. Now, you could try attaching an external display to see if its truly the graphics card vs. the display. Though it sounds like the Intel display system must have also failed, unless I'm not understanding Optimus properly.

    Yea im on the phone with them now, im hopping for an upgrade to an alienware..

    You probably already did this but did you get the newest nVidia drivers that are out? 270.61 is the latest driver.

    Update the upgrading my ram to 8 gb from 6gb and the processor from 2410 to 2520 i5.

    You guys think that was worth it?

    Might as well. Most of the laptops are working well, so you shouldn't have that issue anymore plus, what, ~$100 of free upgrades?
