im running 64 bit
-
i have tried both of the drivers from dell and the upek w7 32bit and device manager says it is working fine, but when i go to enroll my fingerprints it tells me there is no biometric device installed, what to do now?
-
try to uninstall the device via device center then restart the computer then reinstall the driver agian...see if that works
-
i figured it out, I needed to install the new program not just the driver.
-
windows 7 has its own fingerprint reader manager..if you go to control panel and the hardware section you'll find it. but nice that you got it to work
-
has anyone noticed that the CPU doesn't make the high pitch sound anymore ??? ( or at least its not as loud )
cool... im really looking forward to the final release
-
Has anyone installed windows 7 on the xps m1210 ?
I have everything working apart from the webcam. I have tried reinstalling the vista drivers which did not work.
Webcam drivers for M1210 anyone ? -
Hey I was just wondering if someone could tell me whether the XPS M1330 vista drivers work on Windows 7 Beta or does it automatically install drivers itself?
-
Windows 7 will install all of your drivers automatically, and if you want to install the dell ones they will work without a problem ( tested the webcam, sound, and video drivers and they all work perfectly)
-
Windows 7 on my M1330 installed everything but the video driver. I had to manually install that as Windows 7 only installed a standard VGA driver, but other than that, can't complain and wouldn't dream of going back to Vista.
-
Thanks guys I will definitely be installing the beta then and having a look at it.
-
is anyone running 7057 release? I upgraded to it today and the freaking fan now won't go off at all.
-
I think the latest is Build 7068, downloaded it at the weekend but not installed it yet
-
that's what happen it the previous version too.. u can fix it by installing the drivers from windows update..
-
so tried that and then tried to upgrade to 7068. The only solution I can find is to upgrade the bios to A15 which I _don't_ want to do as I have the Sierra MC8775 wireless card.
any idea chaps? -
I'm with 7057 64-bit. Windows update fix my problem. Same goes with previous version 7000 32-bit.
-
laziepig - what did windows update update ?
-
it's optional. u get to choose nvidia, 3 ricoh drivers and some webcam drivers.
-
Do not and I mean do not upgrade to Build 7068. I installed it on my lappy tonight and wow, I cannot even access some websites including Microsoft's own website. Also, just look at the attached picture for another problem. It is not IE8 because it happens in Chrome too. It definitely was a w t f moment for me when I first saw that on my computer...

yeah, i figured it would have issues, it wasn't officially released for a reason, and now i think you know why
-
I am running the Windows 7 64 Bit Build 7068 and not had any issues with it.
Can you give me a list of websites you had issues with and l will see if l can replicate the problem? -
I cannot access www.microsoft.com at all. And www.neowin.net has upside down pictures as seen by my earlier post.
-
I'm running 7068 no issues with microsoft or neowin.
I fixed my issue by downgrading the video driver. -
Both those sites work ok for me. No upside down piccys or access issues.
My installation started with a clean install of Build 7000 and then an upgrade to Build 7068. Don't know if that makes any difference. -
Well, microsoft.com works for me now.. prolly was a dns issue. The neowin stie seems to be loading fine too now... I take it back, the build is running nice
-
My intel wifi 5350 64-bit driver is giving me a big headache.. Whenever i point my mouse to the signal icon at the taskbar, the explorer.exe keeps restarting.. anyone with intel wifi 5350 here? I'm on 7057 64-bit.
-
has anyone tried to install the face recognition software fast access that dell includes on their studio xps 16?
I'm running on windows 7 build 7069 64bit now, and everything works just fine except that program. I had the fast access running in background and it constantly put the laptop into sleep mode RANDOMLY even though I didn't set it so.
The windows 7 experience!!!
