windows 7 has its own fingerprint reader manager..if you go to control panel and the hardware section you'll find it. but nice that you got it to work :D

Has anyone installed windows 7 on the xps m1210 ?

I have everything working apart from the webcam. I have tried reinstalling the vista drivers which did not work.

Webcam drivers for M1210 anyone ?

Hey I was just wondering if someone could tell me whether the XPS M1330 vista drivers work on Windows 7 Beta or does it automatically install drivers itself?

Windows 7 will install all of your drivers automatically, and if you want to install the dell ones they will work without a problem ( tested the webcam, sound, and video drivers and they all work perfectly)

Windows 7 on my M1330 installed everything but the video driver. I had to manually install that as Windows 7 only installed a standard VGA driver, but other than that, can't complain and wouldn't dream of going back to Vista.

so tried that and then tried to upgrade to 7068. The only solution I can find is to upgrade the bios to A15 which I _don't_ want to do as I have the Sierra MC8775 wireless card.

    any idea chaps?

Do not and I mean do not upgrade to Build 7068. I installed it on my lappy tonight and wow, I cannot even access some websites including Microsoft's own website. Also, just look at the attached picture for another problem. It is not IE8 because it happens in Chrome too. It definitely was a w t f moment for me when I first saw that on my computer...

I am running the Windows 7 64 Bit Build 7068 and not had any issues with it.

Can you give me a list of websites you had issues with and l will see if l can replicate the problem?

I cannot access www.microsoft.com at all. And www.neowin.net has upside down pictures as seen by my earlier post.

I'm running 7068 no issues with microsoft or neowin.

I fixed my issue by downgrading the video driver.

Both those sites work ok for me. No upside down piccys or access issues.

My installation started with a clean install of Build 7000 and then an upgrade to Build 7068. Don't know if that makes any difference.

has anyone tried to install the face recognition software fast access that dell includes on their studio xps 16?
I'm running on windows 7 build 7069 64bit now, and everything works just fine except that program. I had the fast access running in background and it constantly put the laptop into sleep mode RANDOMLY even though I didn't set it so.
