2 days before (on Vista) I was able to use the front audio panel.
I was able to use headset with microphone.
Now I can only use headphones becasue W7 is not picking up anything, even though I have set it in Sigmatel control panel to be microphone.

I don't know there are and more more problem with Se7en

Dont blame windows 7 for you being unable to install it on a machine that wasn't MADE for windows 7. Vista and 7 are different operating systems and saying that a missing driver or something that you can't get working is the fault of the OS is lame.

People hate vista because its "sooo buggy and slow," so that explains why vista ran perfectly fine for me on multiple machines with out any problems since it launched.

Don't blame the OS, it's something that you're missing. software, driver, setting, etc.... its on you to figure it out because you are installing a different OS then your machine was designed with/for.

I don't like the way you look at it. The fact is that most drivers that were made for Vista are compatible with Se7en.
I'm talking about SIGMATEL that doesn't even have it's own website.

And I too didn't have any problems with Vista. I installed W7 only because of peer pressure :p

did you install the driver, your first post did not say if you installed the driver for sound on the windows 7 install. You may have to install that driver to get your sound working they way it suppose to, cause windows 7 may just use the default MS sound driver if it could not locate the right driver for your hardware. I had the exact problem as you, had to use compatibility mode to get the driver software to install on W7

you still are just not answering the question. did you INSTALL drivers for your audio components or did windows 7 do it.

again, you said it yourself "most" drivers from vista work to an extent with 7, dont you think you're pretty clearly dealing with one that isn't working?

the problem is that you need a driver, or a different driver installed. if it worked in vista and it doesn't in 7, then its a driver issue.

    sheesh.
