1 - Is the 250gb 5400 rpm hard drive equipped with a free fall sensor? It doesn't say it is on the config option, but not sure if that is just an omission.

2 - How much of an upgrade is the T9300 from the T8300

3 - How much battery life will the T9300 and 7200 rpm HD lose compared to the T8300 and 5400 rpm?

1 - Thanks, although that leaves me in a quandry. Pay $150 to get free fall and bump to 7200 rpm? Or pay $365 to go to SSD drive?

2 - Even with double the L2 cache? 6mb instead of 3 mb

    3 - Thanks

u can get 7k HDD's now for around $100 from time to time. prices on SDD's are also droppin due to newer SDD technology.

the difference in processors wont be huge. wont be like a night and day difference.

battery loss will be kept to a minimal if u do decide to go with the t9300 and 7k HDD. u can always undervolt yur CPU if u'r really worried about battery life.

    1) save money.... not going to see a lot of difference between 7200 n 5400.... $150 is definitely not the right price, though the freefall sensor might appeal to you

    2) not much difference... u'r not going to max out your processor every day, or use up the L2 cache..

That's a big price hike for the 7200rpm w/freefall. In your case I'd go with the 5400rpm. Also as said the T8300 is plenty. The upgrades don't sound worth it. Save a few bucks and some battery life. Are you getting the LED screen? That'd be a more worth while upgrade IMO. ;)

Yah getting the LED. I figure with a warranty free fall isn't a huge deal, so 5400 rpm it is. And T8300! Thanks for all the help
