I was checking what the latest Thunderbolt 3 Controller driver for my XPS 15 9550 is and I ended up being confused. In the driver list, it indicates that the current driver is "v16.3.61.275 ,A03" which was released on July 20, 2017. When I looked at the details for this version, I saw that in "Other versions", a newer version was listed (v17.2.71.250,A05) released on January 8, 2018. What am I to believe? Was this newer version pulled at some point? Has anyone installed this newer version?

    Thanks,
    JohnD

Interesting - FWIW I am on v16.3.61.275 and all seems to be fine (use it with Aorus eGPU).

I suspect Dell issued the new one, only to roll it back due to issues with one of their external docks (which based on my reading here have had issues since release).

I use 17.2.71.2 for more than a month, works ok. But also no difference to the former version...

That is interesting. There is an "Other versions" link on the all drivers list for "v16.3.61.275 ,A03" and that does not list the v17, so it looks like that v17 item on the "full driver details" page is in error. I have asked Dell Support in their support forum, but I have not gotten a good answer.
