I opened up iTunes today and while you are inside it, the touch buttons at the top of the Studio XPS 16 work fine but if you are in firefox, desktop or anywhere else they do not seem to control the music at all? Is there a way to fix this?
EDIT: SOLVED READ MY POST A LITTLE WAYS DOWN

You can only use the media touch buttons while having the itunes window open and "selected" or "magnified" or whatever you want to call it.

I discovered that on my laptop too.

well that's too bad, i guess i'll try to see if windows media player will let me do it...
-
It does work in media player.

i fixed it!!! It is POSSIBLE to get the buttons to work in iTunes!!! Follow this short tut and it will be up and working!
To use this plugin, simply copy the mmKeys.dll file into your plugins folder.
For XP Users: “C:\Program Files\iTunes\Plug-ins”
Vista Users: “C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins”
DLL File: http://www.nachomaster.com/tutorials/mmkeys.dll
In each case, you have to create this folder if it doesn’t already exist. -
This issue is software-specific. Like the solution above, if you want to make it work with other programs like Winamp, you should find a plugin that will support the media buttons.

I have that plugin installed and it works great but while I'm in Firefox I prefer their Foxytunes media control that sits rite on your brouser.

Yeah, I just realized I've mostly been using a mouse so that would make a difference in witch one is easier.
