I remember reading a thread similar to this a while back but am unable to find it. The fellow had his laptop replaced several times due to the media buttons being too dim when pressed. I am having the same problem. How bright are your media buttons when you press them? I can barely see them unless I'm right on top of them purposely trying to see what I've pressed. Is there any way to adjust the brightness of these or am I out of luck? I'm not really in the mood to have the laptop replaced as university classes are about to start back up and I can't be without it.

Thanks for any help in advance,
    Matt

Mine is clearly visible even in the daytime, in the shade. In direct sunlight I expect them to be quite dim.

Although, I do find myself using the volume control in Windows more often than the touch sensitive buttons.

It's my volume buttons as well. All of the buttons that light up are very dim. That's strange...

Mine is pretty bright, although it's hard to compare brightness without pics. Under warranty, you can have a Dell specialist check it out and possibly replacing that portion, not the whole laptop. I think it's an easy swap.

Mine is very dim too, not only the media control buttons, but wi-fi, Bluetooth, caps lock indicators and even the hard disk and power indicators (near the sound jacks); basically all LED indicators are extremely dim. I can barely see them in a lit room. But i never bothered to send it back.

Mine are too bright... but dim or bright is something I can live with. In terms of LED's the HDD light is pretty useless to me down near the jacks, I have to curl my head like a brontosaurus just to see what my disk is up to.

Mine are really dim. but it never bothered me, I guess I could try that other Strip that has the touch sensitive buttons. (Dell send 2 of them, only one on the shipping sheet, the tech let me have the spare. xD)
