    Hi Everyone,

    Need some help/advice -

I would like a auto/car charger for my Dell Studio XPS 1647 which has a 9-cell battery. Can someone recommend a good one to get.

This is a dumb question, but I will ask it anyway - would the 65-watt auto/air/ac adapter charger still work regardless of the fact that it would report issues about wattage?

Also, would it report issues if I had a 6-cell battery that only requires 65-watt.

The power requirement will be pretty much the same whatever battery you have. At idle you should be ok with 65 watts but if you're going to game then it'd quite likely hit 85-90 watts (ie killing the charger). Get at least a 100 watt one to be on the safe side, 120 would be even better since you'll never draw that much.

The 65 watt will not power the machine at full strength, nor will it charge the battery. You need a minimum of 90 watt. For a 1645/47 a 130 watt is best. Just buy a car inverter to turn your socket into a power plug and use your power adapter.
