I am having trouble with my xps m1530. It is hard to describe it. All of a sudden today my computer is acting up. First the display image quality automatically changed from 1440x900 to 1280x 800. I have tried to restart it, and the same thing happens. I have changed it back to 1440x 900 but when i log off and come back, the display image is 1280x900. I have tried to do a system restore, but it tells me the OS has errors. When i check for disk errors, it tells me that i cant check disk errors while the disk is in use. I try to schedule a disk check up and click on it, and nothing happens and the pop up goes away. I am not sure what is wrong, when i restart the computer a disk checkup does not occur. I also noticed that the memory in use is lower than it use to be (from about 1.4 to 1.19gb), but i have around the same processes around 85. I have also tried to drop my desktop icon to the lower third portion of my laptop screen, and the computer is not allowing me. I also feel things are loading up a lot slower. It takes me almost a minute to load up word. I have tried to use my comp on safe mode and the display quality is fine. Not sure what is wrong. Any help is appreciated

Sounds like a virus to me.
Try running in Safe Mode and doing the checkups.
    Post your results here.

It also sounds like there's the possibility of an application at startup forcing the display under Vista to go into non-composite mode, which is typical of some older applications. As an example, old Visual Basic V6 apps have to run in a non-compositing display mode.
