Ok, I'm pretty sure this is the right forum for this, but I apologize if not.

I have some logitech 5.1 computer speakers, and I'd like to use them for my 360. I have a 360 cable that has a vga out, plus red and white audio composite cables. It comes with a converter thing that converts the composite audio to a 3.5mm jack.

Anyway, what I used to do was run the audio through the line in on my desktop sound card, which worked perfectly. Unfortunately, I can't do that now because I only have my XPS m1530 laptop, which apparently doesn't have "real time" line in (the line in only works for recording). My speakers also don't have any type of line in. Can you guys think of any converter or anything I could do to get this working? Or, even better, software that makes the m1530 line in work like it should?

have you checked there is not an AUX in on the speakers themselves, as that would do the trick. Otherwise you can plug in the cable into the microphone socket and unmute the microphone in windows that should make it play out the microphone input.

if you have the x-530 speakers then you need the game converter piece it should have come with. it has the input of the 2 red/white jacks, and then outputs to the 3 jacks for the main line of the speakers. you only get analog sound though.

Ah shoot, I doubt I still have that piece. I bought the speakers a long time ago. I guess I'll try the mic thing, and if that doesn't work I'll look into a sound card...

    Thanks for the responses.
