UK => should I wait for SXPS 16 with 5730 or go with 4670 GPU?

I have been waiting since sept last year to buy the XPS 16 and kept holding on because it was always one issue or the other: -
    1) Price going up/down due to different coupons
    2) RGBLED not available at some time or lead-time to long
    3) Now new 5730 GPU not available in the UK

I am now tired of waiting and have not got a clue how longer to hold out for.

I am 90% unlikely to play games on laptop (hec I have a PS3 from launch that has probably only seen 2hrs of game play!)

    So questions are: -
    1) Is their any difference noticeable if don’t play games by going with 4670 over 5730
    2) Is there any consumption (i.e. heat/battery life) differences between 4670 & 5730; I am talking about reality and not what the specs say on paper

I am so fed up of waiting!

    Cheers

If you dont play games then get one when youre ready. As for the GPUs the 5730 will run cooler and more efficiently. 9watts and slightly cooler but nothing huge especially if your not gaming.

Depends what you're doing. At idle, web browsing, ect.- probably not significant. Watching Blu-ray/ HD content- it's certainly possible.

Well I really only surf, IM, email and research on the battery and I can get 3-4 hours. I cannot speak for 4670 and RGB users. The gpu alone is 9 watts and the RGB screen is roughly 3 times the wattage of the WLED so you should see somewhat of a significant jump in battery life.

I have tested XPS with and without RGBLed Display.
    With RGB: 6cell akku 1,5-2h, 9cell akku 2-3h
    Without RGB: 6cell akku 2-3h, 9cell akku 3-4h
All times at office load (Word, E-Mail, etc.)
