UK xps m1530 laptop production/delivery time

For the UK people
Just looking for the average time it takes for this laptop to be manufactured and sent to an address in the UK .
Some say 2 1/2 weeks some have had it sooner .
I ordered mine last wednesday and it still says being prepared for production on order status.
what other waiting times have people experianced ???

 

Been waiting since the 17th and it hasn't left pre-production yet

 

Well they said on or before feb 13 which is 3 weeks . My flatemates GF said it took 2 1/2 weeks for hers .
You might get yours week of the 7th Feb.
Wouldnt read too much into the online status.

 

Ordered mine on 25th arrived today the 29th - 4 days later. Very good service. Only problem is my 1680x1050 screen is horrible with a bit of grain and unacceptable viewing angles so back it goes...

I hope not, I was told the 5th on or BEFORE!

 

Ok Ok I guesstimated the date for 3 weeks , the 5th is around the 3 week mark , just like they told me from between 23 jan to 13 feb
One person earlier said they got it inside 4 days , maybe they hit a low demand period.
Now that would be nice to receive it this week

 

Had a friend order one on a Tuesday mid-Jan and it was delivered on the Friday.

I've found in the past with my Vostro desktop orders that it can sit in pre-production for quite a while then very quickly progress through production, packing & shipped with a matter of hours.

 

Yeah thats what I hope for.

Getting sick of using mates IPC laptop that from the specs looks like it was designed to run Win98 or Win2000/ME

Ordered Dell M1530 XPS. on 20th january been emailed today saying will be delivered on 22nd of febuary. Not a happy man. :<

My mums m1330 finally shipped today, ordered 22nd January, doesn't look like they are in as high demand as the m1530s.

 

I orderd my m1530 on the 2nd of febuary and its coming tommorow on the 6th

 

What sort of lcd screen is it on the model you have ordered??

 

it only gave me the option for the 1280x800 screen my estimated delivery time was the 21'st

 

I think Dell must have a LCD screen shortage anyone who orders M1530 with 1280x800 screen has quick delivery.
Everyone with 1440x900 or above LCDs on order has to wait!!

 

Sounds reasonable. I think they must be having a similar problem with LED screens on the m1330

 

When I ordered mine, the website said 10 days delivery.

Order was confirmed as three weeks.

Bit surprised to get a phone call a couple of days later saying it would be delivered the following monday

So...delivery time... 1 week

 

At least it's good that Dell finally offers the option for screens with higher resolutions than the abysmal 1280x800.

Now if those screens are LED backlighted and the whole laptop case comes in black the M1530 would be truly perfect.

 

Have Heard from a friend who works for the BBC, they are using Dell machines.
they have just had there delivery delayed. They heard on the g**** vine that dell are having so many problems with 1280x800 and 1680x1050 LCDs that everyone is now ordering nothing but 1440x900, these LCDs are LG ones and seem to be almost trouble free. thats why longer deliverys on M1530s for EU people :<

 

The wait is nearly over Dell phoned today laptop to arrive Monday Am. Only 22 day wait, Come on Dell we expect alittle better.

 

I've only been waiting just over a week now and even that seems like an eternity.....couldn't bear a 22 day wait.....

 

Add me to the waiting list too ordered on the 30th Jan, expected deliverly is 18th Feb.. Pretty bad going really, I was expecting it within a week since ordering see how others have shipped so fast.

I also though have ordered the 1440x900 screen.. guess we are all waiting for it then. Hopefully it will be a perfect panel.

 

Hi all. My laptop arrived today, 1440x900 LCD is beautiful am going to test HL2
on lost coast now will post results.

 

I got an email this morning stating that my order that I placed on 30th Jan ment for delivery on Feb 18th 2008 has been delayed until Mar 11th 2008. I wasn't too happy but I checked the status this morning and it was in production.. I just checked again and now its in delivery preparation .. Fingers crossed might come tomorrow if it ships today
