This has happened a couple times now. The two USB 3.0 ports will randomly stop working even with devices plugged in such as my USB mouse. After a reboot they start working again. Could this be the motherboard issue that I have heard about? Thanks!

I had the same exact problem with my brand new system also. After doing multiple driver downgrades/upgrades/restores blah blah blah Dell sent the technician over to replace my motherboard and 2 daughterboards. So now it finally works.
I got on the techsupport chat and they remotely diagnosed and ran the pc checkup utility that comes with the laptop. When it failed the pci express test they determined the motherboard was bad.
I am very pleased with the Dell support. They overnighted the parts to my house and the technician showed up the next day- very fast service.
