Someone from Dell told me that there is no driver for Linux for the 128GB SSD. However some people report running Ubuntu on the M1330 with a 64GB SSD.
Do any of you are running Linux on the M1330 with the 128GB SSD?
Also, do you know what features, if any are not working on Ubuntu?

Deal now offers a 128GB SSD so it should work fine.

What is the difference between AHCI access mode and IDE?
-
. Native Command Queuing (NCQ): This is pretty useless with a SSD anyway since you can't optimize movement paths by reordering commmands. Access time is 0.1ms regardless of mich sector was read before.
. Hot swapping : Attach/Detach storage devices during work.
I've seen several SSD tests and I recognized some of them were only working when using IDE access mode and NOT using AHCI (at best was very slow). This depends on the controller and the firmware of an SSD drive. -
Apologies if you feel Im trying to plug my forum, but I just wanted to sy that although I am not very good with Linux, I have several Linux certified professionals on my site. You may get a good response from them in regards to your Linux issues.....link is in my sig.
Again, apologies if anyone feels Im trying to plug my forum, but theres a lot of Linux info being built on the site which the OP may find useful.
