Damn, I just want a working computer!

This time, I think something is wrong with the 9-Cell I got from Dell.

I'll fully charge it, and use it for about 30 minutes. Turn it off and when I wake up in the morning, its so dead, it won't even get to the BIOs and no lights show up on the battery indicator.

I thought maybe I'd left it on (which doesn't make sense since the laptop turns itself off before the battery gets that low), so I charged it completely, and turned the machine off. Disconnected the battery and put it back in without touching anything else and made sure it was still off..

Nope, couple hours later, the battery is completely dead..

I've had this comp for a little over a month and this is the second issue!

That sounds more like a battery issue, than a computer issue. Get a replacement.

Wow, what's up with that? They next day shipped my 130W adapter and that was nowhere near as important to have as a battery...

    Got the new battery

Its STILL having the same problem! I'm close to tearing my hair out!

I restored the laptop to factory specs, and it still does it!

What happens is that I'll completely shutoff the machine (hard shutdown just to be sure). I'll come back and it'll be dead. Thought the battery wasn't holding a charge, but after I shut my computer down, my sister went into my office 2 hrs later and saw that the ring lights were on after I had shut down the machine. It looks like it booted itself back up and was stuck on the BIOs Password. Makes sense why it would run itself to a 0% charge instead of autoshutdown at 7%

Gotta call Dell in the morning.

I think I'm gonna lose it.

Went online to get my service call number, and I see THIS on the page

    NON WARRANTY-CUSTOMER CAUSED

    WHAT THE !

What the hell did I do?! I've had this computer for maybe a month.

Who wants an XPS 16? I'll sell it cheap.

Was the BIOS updated by chance? Some had problems with charging issues.

Considering that offer fluffyuk.. Very tempting.. Lol

I did upgrade the BIOs, as they had me upgrade after my remote wasn't working.

I found out it was the fact the laptop was turning itself on at night for some reason. Googled it, and saw taht a bunch of XPS 16s were turning themselfs on at night. Mine would drain the battery down to 0% because I have a BIOs password, so i'd get stuck on that.

After messing around with power settings, problem went away
