I dropped my new Studio XPS 13. Fortunately, the only damage is twisted silver panel on the left of the screen (right at the hinge). My question, can I buy this silver panel anywhere? It is a one-piece panel that goes on top of the leather trim and wraps around.

I bought the laptop from Bestbuy but I didn't buy their extended warranty. So, I am assuming I have the basic 1-year Dell warranty. I am pretty sure that does not cover this.

No, it wouldn't because it was dropped that is considered physical damage... :(

If you had some Accidental / Extended coverage, it probably would cover it.

I'm wondering if you can get this part via Dell, E-Bay or a online parts reseller?

That's too bad this happened to you...

    Cin ;) :)

Contact Dell XPS Support..they may be able to help in securing a new part for you. ;)

That, would be extremely good Customer Service if Dell did this for him, even after the panel became twisted after it was accidentally dropped. :)

Check with the issuer of the credit card you used to purchase your notebook.

It may have accidental coverage for xx days.
