Unibody Macbooks speakers, vs Dell Studio XPS 1640 speakers.
Unibody Macbooks batter life vs Dell Studio XPS 1640 battery life 9 and 6 cell.

The reason why I want to buy the Macbook even though the video card sucks when compared to the Studio xps 1640, is because I can run Linux, Unix, and Windows on my desktop , but I cant run Max osx.

I don't know about the speakers, but the unibody Macbooks kill the SXPS 16 in battery life, even when the latter has a 9-Cell battery. At the very least, the minutes per watt-hour of the Macbooks is like double that of the SXPS 16. At any rate, if you want to run OSX, isn't it pretty clear that you should get the Macbook?

As previously mentioned, if you need to run OSX then you need a MacBook. There is no issue here.

The speakers on the XPS are much better than the Macbook. Between the XPS and a Macbook Pro (15" or 17") I would say that the XPS it a touch better. The main reason being that the MBP is missing a little bass probably due to the rigid metal case. The battery life is much better on the Macbook or any Mac portable for that matter.
