I'm curious if when the 1640's Bios is unlocked, it will allow VID regulation.
Has anyone here unlocked their 16xx Bios?

It might, but you don't need to mod the BIOS to adjust voltage with a C2D CPU. Look here for more info http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...arket-upgrades/235824-undervolting-guide.html. Core-i series CPUs are a different story.

Quite true. I've used RMClock and Throttlestop both successfully with Vista. Both made things noticeably cooler and Throttlestop's IDA locking gave a nice little performance boost.
However neither work with Linux. -
