Dell updated their US website tonight with options for the i5-520m (also offered on the high end Studio 15),i5-540m, and the i7-620m for the xps 1640, psd is a month out. (edit)
Ok, so this is old news, still curious if anyone knows if these will have the same issues as the current 1645?

The power requirement between the i5 and the i7 is only 10W. That being said, if the PSU that comes with the 1647 is the same 90W adapter it seems very likely there will be some throttling because on the 1645 the discrepancy between power needed and power available is much more than 10W.
