Hi, I have a dell XPS 1330, with an intel core T5250, I want to upgrade my processor, but I don't understand what type of socket has my processor. Can you explain this?Is it compatible with socket 479? And do you know if there is a guide to change the processor?with a video, or only instruction?
    thanks all..

    Guide:
    http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/xpsM1330/en/sm/cpu.htm#wp1084976

It's a Socket-P CPU. You can go only up to a FSB800 CPU (not FSB1066). Pick one:

L2 Cache size doesn't yield in high performance gains in notebooks:

I'd recommend a 45nm one. And in particular the T8300:

I'm aware the T9300/T9500 aren't much more expensive, but they also dissipate more heat due to higher caches. CPU power isn't always the limiting factor: GPU, amount of main memory and SSD/harddrive in many cases make a bigger difference.

Yes, you can use a T81/8300 on your M1330.

I'd also make sure you updated to the most current BIOS version before upgrading. If you've an older BIOS, that might be a sticking point. Easy to flash though.

Yes the T7500 is compatible as well. However it's a really HOT processor. Your vents will turn on more frequently and be louder.

That's the reason why T7500 cpus are quite cheap on e-bay: Those got replaced by 45nm CPUs by their owners. But if you undervolt the T7500 they aren't that bad.
