Since newer versions of this laptop will receive the new 4670 card, is it possible/stable to upgrade current SXPS 16s running the 3670 to the 4670?

Also, I Googled up the specs of both cards, it seems that the 3670 is clocked equally/higher than the 4670 and all other specs are the same. What is the advantage of the 4670 then?

You could replace the motherboard to one containing a 4670

i bought mine couple of weeks ago and i think you have 21 days to return your laptop, with a 15% restocking fee as a penalty. :(

So basically I lose $400 for returning, + $100 for the upgrade. That's like paying $500 to go from 3670 to 4670.

$400 US? your better off selling it on ebay or something. but if u unload your new laptop, you'd be getting an improved video card in 4670 and free upgrade to Windows 7! ;)

If you got your 1640 on June 17 as it implies in your sig, why not just return it. You're still within your 21 day return period. And if you're re-ordering, it should be a relatively painless process (no shipping, no restocking, etc)

I bought it from a USA reseller and they charge 20% restocking.

How would my CC protect me? I am seriously interested in this if it works, I would much rather have a 4670 than a 3670.

If they try and charge the restock fee, tell your cc company that you want to do a chargeback for the amount of the restock fee.

Wouldn't my CC think I bought something and want a chargeback so I get it free?

You can do that, but that won't hold up. You signed the receipt which is like a contract and you agreed to the restocking fee. The CC will take the charge off, investigate and then promptly put it back on your account.

I used my dell preffered account (4500 credit) like i do everytime i purchase dell. I actually bought the Studio 16 when there was a 20% off final price so if I return it and get the same stats then I'll actually be paying 20% more and have a low chance of getting the restocking fee removed

$2,876 for the build with the 4670
$2,305 for my current build, same stats but with a 3670

Was wondering if I bought a motherboard off Dell could i get a dell tech to install it? Can't seem to tell which mobo has what gpu

You won't see a refurb 4670 board for quite sometime. You are better off returning what you have and getting a new system.
