Is there anyway to upgrade the integrated x3100 on my xps? maybe thru the expresscard slot? I am pretty sure there is not, but any help would be appreciated.

Nope, it is integrated on your motherboard and not changeable.

Actually you can find them on ebay for less than $200. I just replaced my Mobo with the NVIDIA version. Not a simple change but it's possible.

So you replaced your mobo with a mobo that is more likely to break? Nice... might as well just saved up or a new laptop.

I replaced the mobo so I could have a dedicated video chip, not so that it would break. But the old mobo will stay here in the event something goes wrong. The copper mod was done from day one so hopefully I won't have a problem.

There isn't so the bottom line is, when you buy a notebook, don't cheap out, get one with a graphics card to last. Since a Dell upgrade to the 8400GS wouldnt have cost anything like $100 even, where as now if you wanted to you have to spend well over double to replace an entire motherboard, which isn't simple stuff, and will void your warranty 1 month into your ownership of it.
