    Hi,

I currently have the default Realtek sound card since I didn't choose to upgrade to Sound Blaster (a big mistake). Now after buying some high-end headphones I am actually able to hear all those minute noise and distortions in sound. Also in gaming the sound is not that good on 5.1. I guess it's normal because I get the same quality when I try on my PC too (bit noisy and not well balanced).

Can I upgrade the sound card in my XPS 17 to Sound Blaster card if I need to? How much will it cost? I am from India.

    Thanks!

The sound Blaster X-Fi MB (Panzer) that you can get from dell is a software.
Sound card can not be upgraded.

@khetik. Does it support 5.1 (I can only see one headphone socket)? And is the sound card upgrade not possible?

I don't know about the x702, but the x502 have 2 headphone jacks and 1 mic in. All of which can be re-purposed for 5.1 output support.

But an external sound card is a much better solution.
