So I finally pulled the trigger and picked up a T9300 off EBay to upgrade my T7250.
The install was painless following the advice I found the site. I also recorded temps for about a week on the T7250 and 8600 GPU doing various tasks so I could compare them to when I installed the T9300. My hope was that by putting some Arctic Silver on the GPU core, it would lower the temps.
I haven't had a chance to do a full range of tests but just from a "feel" point of view, I notice no difference with the T9300 - I do notice the fan comes on more frequently and spins at maximum rpm's.
Temperatures: T7250 vs. T9300. For comparisons sake, the T7250/8600 configuration is stock from the Dell factory. The T9300/8600 temps are with the Arctic Silver applied.
T7250, 8600 GT Temps
Idle: 46/61
Call of Duty 4: 62/73
Race 07: 61/70
Browsing (Flash/Youtube): 56/70
T9300, 8600 GT Temps,
Idle: 42/59
Call of Duty 4: 53/71
Race 07: 52/70
Browsing (Flash/Youtube): 46/67
Conclusion:
It seems like the T9300 runs much cooler than the T7250 but unless I get down to the CPU tests and other processor intensive applications, I don't notice any performance increase on the day to day tasks. I'm assuming this is because of the lower power output. I would guess that the Arctic Silver applied on the 8600 didn't do much to cool down the GPU. The temperatures are slightly cooler, but 1-2 degrees could be made up by the T9300 taking on a heavier load than the T7250. Just speculation.

Good thread.
I was just wondering if i should do a switch. -

Same, I may do it further down the road.
