    VERY low marks with the nvidia 8400m gs

    hey i have the xps m1330 with the nvidia geforce 8400m gs. i have the latest nvidia driver, have xp system, 3gb of ram, T8300 processor. and i get a low score! the laptop is brand new 2 months old, he get 384 at the 3dmark06. can someone tell me what the hack is wrong?

    i was told when i do the 3dmark06 test i need to plug in the laptop, after i plugged it in i got i think 1684.
    so the prob is resolved :)

    1684 on stock is quite good... (1280x800, i.e.)

    The GPU core and mem speeds run at 400 MHz and 600 MHz normally, but on battery power they get bumped down to 169 MHz and 100 MHz. I know of no way to prevent against this, it seems to be built into the BIOS.

    actually search this forum for powermizer .. my friend xsmile made a powermizer disabling tool which will give u 400mhz all the time plugged or unplugged

    probably the overheating problem.... dell forcing the cores to run slower to prevent overheat :(
