My mother's old XPS M1330 died about 6 months out of warranty. From searching here and chatting with Dell support it sounds like it likely has a bad motherboard. She went ahead and ordered a replacement M1330. What kind of value does a dead M1330 have for a buyer (minus the battery which she is keeping for her new one)? What's the best way to sell it?

are you sure you want another m1330? there are better(well equipped + newer hardware) machines out now which are cheaper and fewer issues

ebay for parts... i'm guessing a new motherboard costs around $300, so your dead m1330 might sell for $200...

I'd just buy another M1330 motherboard, get it working, and sell it on eBay. Its going to be worth a lot more with a working mobo than a dead one.

Or see if it's from the geforce 8400 chip series that were faulty.

I'm pretty sure Dell will fix it for free.
