    Hi

i own XPS M1330. I am using it for a year i never faced any probs with it. Resently a small portion in my screen started flickering out when i tap the bottom portion of the screen the flickers stops. But now that particular portion is changed into multi color bar it exactly at center of the screen. every thing works fine only that portion is not showing multi-color. When i try to take screen shot this effect is not shown in that the screen shot shows a clear screen. Can any one suggest what will be the issue and what can i do to resolve this prob

    thank you

This one sounds like a hardware failure. Is your laptop still on warranty?

Vertical lines on screen are a typical sign of (the beginning of) a GPU failure. However, it could just be a loose connection of your laptop's screen.

If you connect the laptop to an external monitor and still see the lines, your GPU is dying, and you will need a motherboard replacement sooner than later. If you don't see the lines on an external monitor, it is just a screen problem which could be as simple as re-seating the plug thing of the laptop's screen.
