Good day all,
Today the video card in my XPS Gen 2 laptop fried for the second time since I've owned it. It had a GeForce Go 6800 Ultra in it the last couple years and now I'll have to buy another one without warranty. I'm a poor college student though, and 200 bucks is a lot of money to me. I'm wondering what other video cards will be compatible, can I downgrade to a regular 6800? Possibly go even further down the line? Performance isn't much of an issue right now.
Thank you all very much in advance!

You can't buy a video card for a Laptop. The chip is integrated into the motherboard so you are out of luck.

Actually, no. His card is socketed, so he can replace it. Anyway, to the OP, the only options you have are the cards that were on offer when you bought the laptop. You'll have to find out the socket that your card uses. Search on ebay, and you could pick up something cheap for that socket. I am not sure, but it's probably the Dell variant of an MXM II socket..
