Hey guys, Ive just played a 20 gig MKV Avatar file.... and I use KM Player and it seems slower than VLC Player.

Even with VLC it seem to be slow at some stages when running Firefox etc in the background... is that normal?

Are they any codecs I should install? use a diff player? I mean what coudl cause it considering my specs?

....check that you're on 100% CPU (using the Power Options) and, if either of those programs are GPU-accelerated, enable "Maximum Performance" (also in Power Options)...
