    I have a xps 1330 that I got on a trade.
Sometimes when I turn on the laptop, the screen has lines or doesn't come on at all.
I asked a friend who works on computers about the problem and he said the video card is probably shot.
    Its a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M

Unfortunatly, I do not have a warranty on this laptop.

Do you think I can replace the gpu?

    Maybe an integrated video card?

    Since I don't play games I don't mind not having a gpu.

    Thanks

I don't think you can replace the gpu. You may have to replace the entire motherboard. A new dell motherboard from the dell website is $375 without tax, shipping and installation.
