What video drivers is everyone using for their XPS 1340?

I am using 179.82 with my 9500 which is much more stable then the 186.81 I tried and seems to get higher FPS. I even get a higher windows score of 5.5 with the lower driver.

What does everyone else use and which is better?

I currently use DOX Forceware 185.85 (It is compatible with W7) ... in my opinion the best firmware at the moment :) Are you running Vista or W7 ? And do you have a Nvidia 9400M or 9500M ?

Vista 64 bit, was debating wether or not to install windows 7. I have a 9500m. Its weird I get a higher score with the windows test with the 179.82 but on certain games like left 4 dead, WIC, Street Fighter 4 I get much higher FPS with the 186.81. The 9500m has a lot of potential if a descent driver was released.

I haven't found any drivers I like yet. They all have problems in one area and excel in another.

Yeah, I primarily play COD 4 on it ... everything on high specs, but AA turned off ... and I get decent frame rates ! :) Which 186 driver do you use ? *The m17x beta ?*

I'm using the 186.81 from nvidia right now. I haven't really tested them in game yet.

I've played Need for Speed Undercover on my 9400m with 186.81. Max Resolution and highest settings except for one or two which are at medium. No lag :D

^^That is the driver I currently use which seems to get better FPS with games, but still scores low on the windows test. I hope when the official Win 7 is released they come out with a driver designed just for the "9500m".

The above driver handles WIC and left for dead on medium settings on full res. However, STF4 has quite a bit of problems and only plays on full speed at 960x600 on medium textures and backgrounds turned off. Hoping to find a driver in the future that will allow backgrounds at playable FPS.

With that said for the price and 13.3 inch screen size the laptop is quite powerful.

no lag ?!?! I play NFS Undercover everything high but in 800x640 (the highest resolution is weird at mine (no 1280x800) and everything feels cheap and laggy. And I got a 9500M !

^ Sorry, forgot to mention I also turned off AA, though its not much of a problem since the resolution is high enough.

Also yes, they don't have 1280x800 exactly, but I believe they do have 1280x720.

You might also want to try turning SLI off, as this may be one of those games where SLI will actually hurt your performance.
