I purchased 2 2GB OCZ RAM modules for my m1330. My computer and Vista reads it, but my VES is still at 4.5 for RAM. The score doesn't usually give me concern, but I accidentally chipped off a piece of plastic that was used to cover the metal hooks holding the top RAM in place. When I placed the new RAM in my laptop the top module didn't "snap" into place like the bottom one did. It still hooked in and fitted perfectly in the slot, but I'm just concern that the plastic was more important than I thought.
Only the plastic chipped off. The metal piece looks fine.

OK...that RAM chip is now loose and you could loose your signal integrity by just bumping the laptop.
Seriously.
Translation: Any bump/jar could cause half your RAM to suddenly disappear which I'm sure would cause a lock up.
Sadly, the only way to fix it? ... motherboard replacement. -
I would guess that a MB replacement would NOT be covered by warranty, correct?

it would be if YOU didn't chip it...
Vista Experience not updating score when from 2 - 4 G RAM
