    Hey guys,

I'm trying to re-install Vista 32 bits on my laptop, but it gives me a error. The error that I get is:

Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation. Error code: 0xE0000100

I've searched for info, but i'm still clueless, I hope that you guys can help me with this really annoying problem.

    Thnx in advance :)

Sounds like the data is corrupted or the computer can't read it. Try cleaning it and look for scratches. If it's scratched, you probably need a new disk. If not, there might be something wrong with the drive.

Either data corrupted on the hard drive or it can also be having problems reading the vista installation dvd disc too. You can also try cleaning the laser on the dvd drive with a Qtip slightly dampened with a little bit of water, and make sure the dvd disc is not scratched as well.

Thnx Guys, but that is not the problem.

I've been up all night toying for a solution and this is what I found. For those with the same problem here's how i've fixed it.

    1) put the mediadirect cd in your laptop
    2) Restart your computer
    3) push F12 for a manual boot (at the bootscreen)
    4) You'll see mediadirect on your screen
    5) Remove the partitions (1,2,Q)
    6) It'll tell you to put the OS-dvd in the tray and to restart
    7) Restart
    8) Push F12 for a manual boot (at the bootscreen)
    9) Install Vista :)

I hope this might be a solution for those with the same problem as I did.

    Thnx,

That's odd, But I never used mediadirct on my M1730 at all as I have no need or use for it at all. But good to hear you got it working.
