Not that WEI really matters much, but this just struck me as odd.

New XPS 15 i7/GT 540 2GB etc.... On Dell's Nvidia driver my score for "Desktop Performance for windows aero" was 5.7, after updating to the latest nvidia it went to 4.8. Any ideas why? Or anyone else experience this?

may be Dell has modified its driver especially for WEI to use nvidia GPU while doing aero and gaming benchmarks...
But with drivers from nVidia , WEI uses nvidia GPU for gaming score and uses On CPU graphics for aero score....

I am not sure if this is true for you but the newest 285.xx series of drivers seem to give my GT 540M video card worse FPS in many games.

WOW, SWTOR*BETA, Warhammer online are the 3 I saw a big dip. I had the Vsync locked on those at 60 FPS and was almost always hitting that with medium high settings on the 280.xx series of drivers.

Since I have upgraded I was only maxing at 55 FPS with no screen effects and dipping to 22 FPS usually averaging around 35 FPS... Still playable but a big performance drop.

I was able to realize my previous FPS of 60+ when i completely uninstalled the newer drivers VIA a 3rd party driver cleaner program and deleting the NVIDIA folder then reinstalling from scratch the original dell 267.XX driver and upgrading only to the 280.XX drivers not the latest ones.

Not sure why the performance is worse on newer drivers but that was my experience.

Did you update your Intel display driver with it as well?

No I did not, as I seem to have the latest driver for it. I read that people were getting good performance with 280.26, so I dropped down to that, and my WEI is back to what it was on the dell driver. Strange right?
