hey guys
i was looking at dell webpage to see if they had any good deals on the xps line or some new components on it
what i found out is that they DON'T SELL THE XPS M1730 WITH 9800GT OR 8800GTX.....![]()
the prices starts at 1200 bucks and they only offer the dual 8700GT ....
even their "best" system (the one that costs 2200 bucks) u just have the option for the dual 8700GT.....![]()
shame on DELL
sorry i forgot to put the link this one

The XPS M1730 is basically just biting dust at the moment, as far as I know it hasn't even been refreshed with a Montevina chipset. I'd recommend buying a Studio XPS, they have decent graphics cards.
-
im not getting this laptop... im just saying that in one week their prices changed a lot
-
I guess they are out of stock with 8800 and 9800.
-
after that mistake im pretty sure they are -
where's the "steal"? Dell stealing our money?
-
Dell was selling the M1730 with 9800 in SLI for $999 last week. Apparently you're not that on top of Dell's pricing.

Anyway, back on topic - the prices have jumped big time and I think its insane for anyone to order a M1730 from them at the moment. The price they are asking on the Dell Home site is idiotic (I'm talking about their high-end option with 8700M GT SLI - pfft). Wait for the next round of sales/coupons.
Just my opinion here, but we have seen items vanish from the config options before - and they have been added back. It is a possibility that the 8800M GTX and 9800M GT as well as the x9000 are just unavailable @ present. This does not mean they will not return. Then again, they may be gone as some are saying and the M1730 is about to be wiped away as soon as the new AW system is debuted.
Only time will tell - hell, the XPS M1330 is still available to order. We shall see.
Then again, you could always order this from Dell Home:

LOL? -
The 1730 is overdue for a refresh which is probably why they have such good prices on them right now.
-
-
well dell wants to steal some money from noobs AFTER being stolen
-
The M1730 is a dying breed, as is the rest of the XPS M1x30 series. They're all on the outdated PM/GM965 chipset and Santa Rosa platform, and their high-end gaming uses are being transferred to Alienware.
WOW what a steal!!!
