Obviously the title for this thread should be XP S 1530

Can I use the S-Video input on my laptop to watch TV via the S-Video out on my Scientific Atlantica Explorer 2000 Cable Bix from Cox Communications?

I would be using Windows Media Center to recognize the signal in.

    Would this work?

Are you sure you have an s-video input? I used to use the s-video port on my girlfriend's 1530 as an output to our tv.

No, that won't work. The S-Video port on the laptop is output only. Secondly, as far as i know, Windows Media Center only recognizes TV tuners. So if you want to watch TV on your laptop, you would either need a TV tuner to use with Windows Media Center, or use a video capture device and some other software.
