The chat rep can't tell me. She claims there are too many suppliers.
Could you guys please let me know what brand/model HD came in yours M1530?

You guys happy with the 160gb 7200rpm? That's what I am thinking of getting.

    Thanks

    250gb 5k rpm = Toshiba
    250gb 7.2k rpm = Seagate

I was originally shipped the Toshiba, which arrived FAILED. They replaced it with the Seagate. Seems fine to me, nice and quiet.

    320GB 5400RPM - Samsung (SATA I) (Built 6/27/08)

I bought an aftermarket Seagate Momentus 7200.3 to replace this one and threw it into my PS3. My Segate is 7200RPM, 320GB, Has the Fall Sensor, and is SATA II

It varies, man. I've seen people order the 320gb 5400RPM HDD and get a Western Digital. I got a 320gb 5400RPM Toshiba HDD. It varies.

Hmm....I could get my M1530 with the default drive and by a Seagate 7200rpm separate and install. Dell wants an extra $250 for a 7200RPM 250GB. I can get that for $100 on ebay.

I just wonder now how long it would take to install all Vista and other programs on the new drive. Does Dell ship everything you need on CD/DVD?

    Thanks
